ACTEL is based in Lleida (Catalonia) and groups together thirty cooperatives of the area, including a group of cooperatives in Aragon. ACTEL is the largest cooperative producer in the area (110,000 MT) and is a specialist in the regular supply of pears, apples, peaches and nectarines for distribution chains. Its new logistics center was opened in summer 1999 and involved an investment of 1.850 billion pesetas (11.11 million euros), which has reinforced ACTEL's role as a large-scale distribution specialist even more. The ACTEL logistics center is the most modern in Europe, capable of producing 200 MT a day in full operation.
